Is the DSLR Booth is better than Ipad Booth..?

This is a question that I get very often. Over all I can tell you that yes DSLR provides much better quality images. Here a few points that explain my answer;

The Sensor:
The DSLR Booth has a DSLR camera inside. These cameras use sensors that range from 16mp to 20mp. Compared to the ones used in the Ipad, which are usually under 10mp and very small. This combination of large sensor and higher mp is one of the bases of better quality imaging on the DSLR.

The Lens:
DSLR cameras use lenses that may have wide range of apertures from 2.8 to 22. while the Ipad is limited to 2.0 or 2.8. This feature has to do with the depth of field. For lower values the focus is very shallow and for higher values the depth of field is wider. A low number aperture of 2 (wider aperture) can limit the number of people you can have in the picture, it can focus on one or two in the same plane, but can leave the rest of the people slightly or completely out of focus. DSLR booths are capable to photograph larger groups than Ipad Booths.

The Flash:
DSLR Cameras use flash, which are balanced and color calibrated to render the correct color, thus providing a pleasant image with beautiful and real colors. Ipad booths rely on environmental lights which can change from place to place, thus providing inaccurate color rendition. Images will usually have an Amber or green tone, dependent on the environmental light. DSLR Booth images provide accurate colors compared to the IPAD Booth.

From these three factors, the answer is very simple; DSLR Booths provide better images than Ipad Booths.

At the same time, DSLR Booths have more equipment that need to be addressed by the Attendant. Usually DSLR Booth attendants are prepared with more backup equipment. On the other side, Ipad Booth are very simple, they only use the Ipad and a constant light.

The winner is the DSLR Booth

From my photographer’s perspective, I will always go for the more quality imaging. That is why that i only prefer to offer DSLR Booths. As a part of the package I also provide all the images taken by the camera on a secure webpage that will be provided a couple days after the event. These images are high resolution unretouched images, straight from the camera. My Customers love this complementary addition to the Package.

DSLR Booths do require more equipment and a more experience and skilled attendant. These Booths tend to be more expensive.
