My job as a documentary wedding photographer is to listen carefully to my customers ideas and plans, so I can capture the wedding day with all details they planed, with artistic perspective.

With 25 years of experience as a wedding photographer in the Greater Bay Area, I am a seasoned professional, who has gone through many different styles. I do not take things lightly. I am aware of all things that are involved in the planning and preparation for the Big Day and prepare and plan according my client’s ideas and dreams.

By working with my customers in understanding their Ideas and plans, I also help minimize their natural stress during the process.

Here are a few things that we will cover in my process as your wedding photographer:

Photography is an Art and a Science. Wedding Photography is that and more. It’s about developing connection, understanding and trust with the couple. I always suggest to have a face to face meeting, either in person or Zoom. We can talk about your plans and you are welcome to ask any questions you may have. I will concentrate in getting your ideas and main goals…

You Book My services,

at this point, I officially save the date and start working for you. It’s all about your plans and ideas for your wedding day. Remember there should not be surprises for your photographer. Great part of my job is to anticipate events and be ready.

Final meet and review.

This is usually done a week or two before the Wedding day. Here we review the schedule and events and finalize it. Here I get to have all information about all the people involved in your wedding, including other vendors, Family and close friends in the wedding party.

The wedding day.

All is planned and now I coordinate with other wedding vendors, like Event Coordinator, DJ etc. We will all work as a team to get all your goals on time with minimum or none questions asked. You will just have to show up and Have Fun, after all it’s the best day to your life.

The editing and delivery.

All digital images go through color correction, straightening, selecting images all is done here. This may take up to four weeks. Then, I will upload all high resolution images to Smugmug, where I create a dedicated page for you. All images will be accessible to you, your friends and family all over the USA.

My Goal as your wedding photographer is to capture natural moments as they happen, so you get a chance to remember your wedding day as it happened, and you will be able to tell the story. To accomplish that, I use a combination of Documentary and Photojournalism Style plus a few Formal images.

Documentary Style and photojournalism, is when the photographer does not change the order of events to get the images. This is great so you can enjoy your day with family and friends and not being constantly ask for attention from the photographer. Additionally, most of my couples ask me for few formal images, when the time is right (After the ceremony mainly), at this time, I am happy to direct your guests to get wonderful portraits.

Meghan and Cade

During the getting ready, I tend to arrange an area, mainly clean them to look tidy and have great light and to be a great background. And ask you to finish your hair and makeup there.

During the first look, I tend to do the same, I look for a private beautiful area with no people and set up the groom looking away, then I call you and you make the magic; I just capture it

The ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, and other especial events are fully Documentary/Photojournalism style.

The classic posed images are typically after the First Look and/or after the Ceremony, up to you. Here, I make sure all details look perfect and “help you refine the pose”, in order to look Natural. Only at this time you will be looking at the camera.

With digital photography, there are many things that photographers can do for Editing.

Some photographers use Lightroom or Photoshop Actions, creating a mood with special effects. Some for example, create over exposed images and give them a pastel tone.  There are several other moods that can be easily created with actions.

My editing is done to reflect Natural Colors. I love things Natural. Depending of the case, I can enhance or reduce the saturation, but the change is minimal. My goal is for them to look natural and real.
