That’s why I have a process for booking, a process for planning and capturing the wedding images and finally a process to edit and deliver the images.

Here are a few things that we will cover in my process:

• Photography is an Art and a Science. Wedding Photography is that and more. It’s about developing connection, understanding and trust with the couple. I always suggest to have a face to face meeting, either in person or Zoom. We can talk about your plans and you are welcome to ask any questions you may have. I will concentrate in getting your ideas and main goals…
• You Book My services. I officially Save the Date and start working for you. I start by providing a form that I developed with years’ experience, to help you get organize from the Photography perspective. It has events, places and people involved during day. It will summarize all the things that are important to you. These are very important to me. We will keep in contact, for updates and changes on the plan.
• Final meet and review. This is usually done a week or two before the Wedding day. Here we review the schedule and events and finalize it. Here I get to have all information about all the people involved in your wedding, including other vendors, Family and close friends in the wedding party. The purpose is to start coordination.
• The wedding day. All is planned and now I will coordinate with other wedding vendors, like Event Coordinator, DJ etc. We will all work as a team to get all your goals on time with minimum or none questions ask. You will just have to show up and Have Fun, after all it’s the best day to your life.
• The editing and delivery. This is when I take some time to work on all digital images, color correction, straightening, selecting images all is done here. Depending on my schedule; this may take one to four weeks. After all is done, I will upload all High Resolution Images to my Partner site Smugmug, where I create a page for you, with Password protection for your images security. Finally I sent you the link and password that you can share with your family and friends.
• We get to be friends for a lifetime.

Abel Soria is such a gem in the wedding photography world. I felt an instant rapport with him during our first meeting. We looked through photos that I liked and he asked me what it was that I liked about each one, which gave him a great vision of what I wanted our own photos to look like.

My Goal is to capture real natural moments as they happen, so years from now, your kids or grandkids can experience your legacy, details, and love that you experienced on your first day as husband and wife on your wedding day. To accomplish that, I use a combination of Photojournalism and Classic Portraits. Photojournalism be a broad definition so let me explain.

Full Wedding Photojournalism, is when the photographer does not move a finger nor ask or tell you what to do in order to get the images. This is used by news Photographers for example as they do not alter the events.

Quasi Wedding photojournalism, is when the photographer sets up the scene and has complete control of the event to get a “pre-planned” set of images. This is used by editorial photographers, it tend to use lots of time, both in planning and execution.

My style falls in between full and quasi Wedding Photojournalism line, in this style you are not looking at the camera. Plus classic portraits for Grandma of course.

During the getting ready, I tend to arrange an area, mainly clean them to look tidy and have great light and to be a great background. And ask you to finish your hair and makeup there.

During the First Look, I tend to do the same, I look for a private beautiful area with no people and set up the groom looking away, then I call you and you make the magic; I just capture it

The Ceremony, First Dance, Cake cutting, and other especial events are fully Photojournalism.

The Classic posed images are typically done either after the First Look and/or after the Ceremony, up to you. Here I make sure all details look perfect and “help you refine the pose” in order to look Natural. Only at this time you will be looking at the camera.

With Digital photography, there are many things that photographers can do for Editing.

Some photographers use Lightroom or Photoshop Actions, creating a mood with special effects. Some for example create over exposed images to make them look light and reduce the saturation to give them a pastel tone. I see this style used by a few photographers. There are several other types of mood that can be easily created with actions.

My editing is done to reflect Natural Colors, because I love things Natural. Depending of the case I can enhance or reduce the saturation, but the change is minimal. My goal is for them to look Natural and Real.
